Episode 1 has been released and it was great to speak to Fiona, whose career started clinically as a physiotherapist whilst serving as a British Army Officer, before moving to England Rugby and the Royal Ballet School. After undertaking an MBA, Fiona moved to more commercial roles with digital tech startups as well as large corporate organisations.
Fiona is a keen sportswoman herself and her husband is the Medical Director of McLaren F1, and so all in all, I believe Fiona brings a unique perspective to the conversation from a clinical, academic and real world experience perspective.
The episode is insightful to understand different themes and principles of performance that are important to Fiona, touching on topics such as resiliency, recovery, reflection, psychological safety, expectations, self awareness and adaptive and effective communication.
I hope you enjoy this episode and next month I’ll be joined by Rhys Carter, co-founder of Carter and George practice. Rhys co-founded his business with Jamie George, the current England Rugby Captain, and in this episode we will specifically discuss data and Rhys’ approach to measuring, and therefore managing performance, in his fast growing physio business.
I would love to hear your feedback on this episode as the series develops and also topics you would love to hear discussed. Thank you in advance!
